Who Is Loveless the Hacker?
Loveless is a mechanically active Vault Hunter built around critical hits, status effects, RAM management, and extra inputs attached to her Action Skills.
Her three trees are not minor variations of the same ability.
They fundamentally change how she approaches combat.
Manifestation summons Wyrm, a digital creature that attacks independently and interacts with a stacking resource called Symbiosis.
Virology uses Plague Star to spread Corrosive Contagion between enemies before detonating those stacks for burst damage.

A full bar gives Loveless more gun damage, so there are situations where delaying the Empowered Melee makes sense.
However, several of her skills trigger after consuming RAM or performing an Empowered Melee.
For example, Hard Reset increases Action Skill and Ordnance cooldown rate after Loveless uses her Empowered Melee.
Other skills build directly around RAM consumption or melee follow-ups.
The correct approach is not:
"Use Empowered Melee instantly."
It is:
Spend RAM when doing so activates something your build needs.

Best Loveless Leveling Build Overall – Malignant Construct Wyrm
For the smoothest first leveling experience, Manifestation is the strongest place to start for most players.
Its Action Skill, Malignant Construct, summons Wyrm as an active companion. Pressing the Action Skill command again can teleport Wyrm toward a target and deal Radiation damage around the destination. Holding the input uses its powerful Radiation melee Breath Attack. Summoning Wyrm also grants Symbiosis stacks.
The reason this tree feels so comfortable during leveling is simple:
Wyrm keeps contributing even while your gear is mediocre.
Your temporary assault rifle can be three levels behind.
Your shield can be average.
Your build can still function because another damage source is actively fighting beside you.
That is exactly what you want during a level grind.
Best Manifestation Skills for Leveling
Corrupted Path
Corrupted Path should be one of your highest early priorities because it strengthens the Radiation identity shared by Loveless and Wyrm.
The skill improves Radiation damage and Irradiation chance, while its Symbiosis effect grants bonus Radiation damage that scales with your current stack count.
That is excellent leveling value.
It increases the effectiveness of the damage type your pet naturally uses and does not require rare equipment before it starts working.
Radiation also fits mob-heavy combat particularly well because infected enemies can help create damage pressure around groups.
Drift Compatible
Drift Compatible turns Symbiosis into additional critical-hit value.

Which Manifestation Capstone Should You Use?
Loveless has several possible Manifestation endpoints.
For straightforward leveling, enrag.exe is a very understandable choice.
enrag.exe
enrag.exe turns Wyrm into an aggressive elite-killing tool.
It increases Wyrm's melee damage, and holding the Action Skill input causes Wyrm to go Berserk and attach itself to an enemy, dealing Radiation melee damage until the target dies or the duration ends. Wyrm loses health during the effect and will not respond to normal Function commands while berserk.
Use it against:
Do not waste the full Berserk commitment on a weak enemy that was going to die from three bullets anyway.
Other Manifestation Capstones
Loveless also has alternatives including barrag.exe and nuk.exe, which change Wyrm's Executable behavior toward wider ranged pressure or large-area Radiation damage.
These can become excellent later specializations.
For a first leveling build, however, the directness of enrag.exe makes it easy to use without requiring a complicated combat setup.
How to Play the Wyrm Leveling Build
Do not summon Wyrm and then forget that Loveless has additional commands.
The whole tree performs better when you actively manage the pet.

Its Action Skill is Visual Paradox Nexus, usually shortened to VPN.
Activating VPN increases Loveless' movement speed and Critical Hit Damage. Killing an enemy while it is active briefly puts Loveless into Stealth and creates a Clone at the dead enemy's location. You do not need to stop playing aggressively just to trigger the defensive effect.
Ratio Technique
Ratio Technique increases Loveless' Critical Hit Chance with guns and melee attacks.
Critical-hit chance has special value on Loveless because crits do more than increase damage.
They also help generate RAM.
That makes this a resource skill and a damage skill simultaneously.

notarget improves the actual Stealth experience instead of only increasing theoretical damage.

Activating VPN immediately creates the maximum number of Clones. During VPN, Loveless can hold the Action Skill input to create an Acceleration Gate. Shots fired through it gain increased damage and projectile speed. The gate normally supports three shots, while absorbed Clones add more shots.

Do not spend your boosted shots on trash.
Use ordinary enemies to start VPN and generate the setup.
Then point the Gate toward the strongest enemy still alive.

synchroniz.exe – Better for Clone/Melee Play
synchroniz.exe makes Loveless and her Clones spin the Kusarigama around them, dealing Radiation melee damage in a large area. Dashing also relocates Clones that are not already close to an enemy.
This is much more attractive if you want:

engag.exe – Aggressive Melee Option
engag.exe throws the Kusarigama at a target, deals Radiation melee damage, fully charges RAM, and launches Loveless toward the enemy. The Executable cooldown is restored when Loveless kills an enemy through melee damage.

Contagion deals Corrosive status damage over time. If an infected target dies, Contagion can spread to as many as three new enemies, transferring half the dead target's stacks. Holding the Action Skill input detonates active Contagion stacks for Corrosive area damage.

Against one isolated weak target, its spreading mechanic barely matters.

High Data Rate
High Data Rate increases Status Effect Chance, with a larger bonus when Loveless' RAM is fuller. After using Empowered Melee, her next Elemental Attack is guaranteed to apply its elemental effect.
This is almost a perfect summary of the Virology playstyle.
Status generates RAM.
RAM improves status application.
Empowered Melee spends RAM.
Spending it then guarantees another elemental application.

Established Gameplay Loop
Established Gameplay Loop is exactly the type of passive you want in a leveling build because it converts your normal actions into immediate gun improvements.
Applying an Elemental Effect or Contagion increases Loveless' Gun Damage and Reload Speed.
You do not need a complicated trigger.
You should already be applying status effects constantly.
Heat Sink

There are several attractive possibilities, but proliferat.exe is the most intuitive if your build is already focused on stacking Contagion.
It replaces the normal Executable with one that doubles the Contagion stacks on every affected enemy and grants Overshield based on the total active stacks.
That gives you damage setup and survivability from the same action.
Other options include replicat.exe, which creates orbiting Corrosive Shurikens that can apply Contagion, and fulminat.exe, which causes enemies hit by Corrosive explosions from Loveless' skills to explode again after a short delay.
For dense mobbing content, all three can work.
The important thing is not constantly switching between capstones before you understand what your existing build is trying to accomplish.

Missing critical spots, wasting Stealth windows, or spending Acceleration Gate shots on weak enemies makes the build feel considerably worse.

Choose Virology for Mob-Dense Content
Best for: elemental builds, arenas, large enemy packs, players who enjoy chain reactions.
Contagion needs bodies to spread through.
The more enemies the game gives you, the more opportunities Virology gets to turn one kill into another infection.
For isolated bosses, you need to shift toward stack building and direct damage rather than relying on spread.
Fastest Way to Level Loveless
Loveless does not require a unique XP source.
What changes is which content best fits her build.
The goal is to maximize kills and mission completions while minimizing travel, deaths, inventory downtime, and gear detours.
If You Are Starting Loveless From Scratch
Players entering FL4K and the Last Resort can create a fresh Vault Hunter that begins directly with DLC content at level 13. Current post-launch documentation also confirms that returning players with access to the appropriate Ultimate Vault Hunter start can create a higher-level Loveless rather than replaying the entire early game.
If you want to experience Loveless naturally, starting through normal progression is completely valid.

Do not make the mistake of believing you need a specific Legendary before your build can function.
Good leveling gear should support Loveless' mechanics first and rarity second.
Elemental Weapons
Elemental weapons are useful across almost every Loveless setup because status applications build RAM.
They become especially valuable in Virology and Manifestation.

Snipers naturally fit Hack / Slash because VPN increases Critical Hit Damage and several deeper blue-tree passives directly reward slow weapons, critical hits, or sniper interactions. Current leveling tests specifically recommend the tree's sniper route around Methodical and accelerat.exe.
The important requirement is accuracy.
A huge critical multiplier is useless if you rarely hit the critical spot.
Grenade Ordnance
Grenades become significantly more valuable in Virology once skills such as Viral Payload are active.
Do not choose only by displayed grenade damage.
Look at whether the grenade:
hits repeatedly,
covers an area,
applies status reliably,
or otherwise creates several opportunities to trigger your passives.
Do Not Overfarm Gear Before Level 70
Temporary leveling gear should solve a problem, not become a project.
Suppose you are level 42 and your damage is poor.
Farm or replace the weak weapon.

A deep Manifestation build gets:

and a Wyrm capstone.
A scattered build might instead get:
a little pet damage,
a little Contagion,

Once your primary tree is functioning, start asking what it lacks.
If Manifestation damage is strong but Loveless feels fragile, borrow survivability.

Move while statuses tick.
Move while Wyrm holds attention.
You should rarely be standing still waiting for something to happen.
Aim for Crits Even on Status Builds
Critical hits always matter because they generate RAM.
Do not assume Virology means aim is irrelevant.
You can apply elemental effects and land critical hits at the same time.
Doing both is ideal.
Use Your Extra Action Skill Inputs
Loveless has Functions and Executables layered into her Action Skills.
Ignoring them means ignoring a large portion of the character.
Wyrm has commands.
