Ula’tek Boss Guide: How to Prepare for the Final Venomous Abyss Encounter

Ula’tek is the eighth and final boss of the Venomous Abyss raid in WoW Midnight Season 2. The encounter combines venom waves, movable eggs, constant add spawns, tank knockbacks, coordinated raid soaks, a demanding add phase, and a final battle where Ula’tek progressively destroys the remaining platform.

Who Is Ula’tek?

Ula’tek is an ancient creature associated with hatred, corruption and venom.

The Amani created the vast prison beneath Atal’Utek after realizing that Ula’tek had become as dangerous to them as she was to their enemies. Zul’jan’s actions eventually disturbed the ancient protections and allowed Ula’tek and her brood to begin escaping their confinement.

Ula’tek serves as the final encounter of the eight-boss Venomous Abyss raid and the conclusion of the central Curse of Ula’tek storyline.

Ula’tek Encounter Overview

The Ula’tek fight consists of:

  • Stage One: Fury of the Serpent Mother

  • Stage Two: Children of the Doomscale

  • Intermission: The Shattering

  • Stage Three: Ula’tek’s Ascension

The encounter is built around three recurring threats:

  • Venom crossing the platform

  • Eggs and serpent adds

  • Gradual loss of safe arena space

Ula’tek sends Caustic Waves across the platform. Any Devourer’s Spawn touched by the venom immediately hatches into a much more dangerous Blightscale Viper.

Players can move or break eggs early to produce weaker adds, but poorly placed eggs can be struck by a venom wave and hatch at full strength. During the final stage, Ula’tek also destroys parts of the platform, leaving the raid with less room to manage waves, adds and player-targeted mechanics.

How to Prepare Before Fighting Ula’tek

Ula’tek is the final encounter of the raid and should be approached with a dedicated preparation plan.

Prepare Clear Raid Markers

Place markers for:

  • Initial boss position

  • Ranged group position

  • Egg-drop or egg-moving areas

  • Spectral Coils soak positions

  • Add-control locations

  • Final-phase movement direction

The raid should understand where eggs belong before the pull begins.

Improvised egg placement can cause Caustic Waves to hatch several eggs simultaneously.

Assign Egg Handlers

Choose players with:

  • Strong mobility

  • Reliable personal defensives

  • Good spatial awareness

  • Minimal interruption to their rotation

Egg handlers should know where each egg needs to be moved and should avoid crossing the path of incoming venom waves.

On Mythic difficulty, Devourer’s Spawn begin with a Hardened shield and cannot be moved until that protection is broken. Egg carriers also need to remain separated because two players carrying Noxious Shells can trigger a dangerous Noxious Splash.

Assign Spectral Coils Groups

Spectral Coils deals raid-wide damage that is reduced according to how many players stand near the impact location.

Create assigned soak groups rather than asking the entire raid to react randomly.

On Heroic and Mythic, players who help mitigate one Spectral Coils receive Soul Constrictor, preventing them from helping with the next one. The raid therefore needs alternating soak groups.

Create an Add Priority List

A useful general priority is:

  1. Dangerous Doomscale or Toxic Blightscale targets

  2. Doomscale Wardens

  3. Fully gestated Blightscale Vipers

  4. Shrieking Blightscales

  5. Weaker Birthlings or Rawlings

  6. Ula’tek

The exact order may change according to the phase and difficulty, but players should never continue attacking Ula’tek while a dangerous add is preparing a raid-threatening ability.

Plan Healing Cooldowns

Raid leaders should assign healing cooldowns for:

  • Spectral Coils

  • Rage of the Shackled

  • Necrotic Vapors

  • Doomscale Warden Malice

  • Add deaths and Gestation overlaps

  • The Shattering intermission

  • Serpent’s Bite and Volatile Purge

  • Final platform destruction

Do not use every major raid cooldown during the opening mechanics.

The final stage combines increasing environmental damage with shrinking safe space.

Prepare Personal Defensives

Players should identify which personal cooldown they will use for:

  • Caustic Wave mistakes

  • Spectral Coils

  • Rage of the Shackled

  • Warden Malice

  • Acidic Burst

  • Volatile Purge

  • Final-phase platform destruction

A defensive used before predictable damage is much more valuable than one activated after the player is already near death.

Recommended Raid Preparation

Ula’tek rewards balanced raid utility rather than one specific class composition.

Useful Raid Tools

Helpful abilities include:

  • Combat resurrection

  • Bloodlust or Heroism

  • Raid-wide defensive cooldowns

  • Movement-speed increases

  • Poison removal

  • Immunities

  • External tank defensives

  • Strong priority-target damage

  • Mass crowd control

  • Reliable interrupts

Poison removal can help with selected add effects, but it does not replace correctly executing Ula’tek’s central mechanics.

Recommended Damage Profile

The encounter requires a mixture of:

  • Strong boss damage

  • Fast priority-target burst

  • Controlled cleave

  • Mobile damage

  • Execute damage

Pure AoE padding is not particularly valuable if it leaves a Doomscale Warden, Blightscale Viper or Shrieking Blightscale alive long enough to cast dangerous abilities.

Consumables and Gear

Before progression, check:

  • Weapon enchant

  • Armor enchants

  • Gems

  • Flask

  • Food

  • Combat potions

  • Health potions

  • Healthstones

  • Repair status

  • Appropriate raid talents

Players should also prioritize the strongest available Season 2 tier bonuses, trinkets and weapons rather than judging every item only by item level.

Stage One: Fury of the Serpent Mother

The opening stage introduces eggs, Caustic Waves, serpent adds, tank pressure and Spectral Coils.

The raid’s main goal is to establish clean egg placement while damaging Ula’tek and controlling anything that hatches.

Devourer’s Spawn

Devourer’s Spawn are eggs located around Ula’tek’s prison.

The eggs can attach to players who touch them, allowing assigned players to reposition them. If an egg is broken early, it releases a weaker Venomous Birthling. If it remains intact long enough or is struck by Caustic Waves, it hatches into a much more dangerous Blightscale Viper.

Every fully hatched Viper also applies Putrid Membrane to the entire raid, creating persistent healing pressure.

How to Handle the Eggs

  • Move eggs away from incoming Caustic Waves

  • Keep eggs away from future soak positions

  • Do not place eggs near the platform edge

  • Break designated eggs before they fully gestate

  • Avoid hatching several Vipers together

  • Keep carriers separated on Mythic

The raid should control when adds appear rather than allowing the venom waves to determine the add timing.

Caustic Waves

Ula’tek sends venom waves across the platform.

Players hit by a wave take heavy Nature damage and receive a damaging effect that can stack. More importantly, any Devourer’s Spawn touched by a wave immediately hatches.

How to Handle Caustic Waves

  • Identify the wave direction early

  • Move through the safe gap

  • Keep eggs outside the wave path

  • Avoid crossing other players unnecessarily

  • Do not use egg-handling routes through incoming venom

Caustic Waves are both a player-avoidance mechanic and an egg-management mechanic.

A player surviving the wave does not mean the mechanic was handled correctly if several eggs hatch behind them.

Call of the Serpent

Call of the Serpent causes Ula’tek’s offspring to fall from the ceiling.

Players should spread enough to avoid overlapping the impact zones while remaining close enough to support add control.

Adds must be gathered quickly so tanks and DPS can control them before the next major mechanic.

Add Control Priorities

  • Group weak adds where possible

  • Separate dangerous frontals from the raid

  • Interrupt dangerous casts

  • Kill fully gestated Vipers quickly

  • Avoid dragging adds through eggs

  • Do not let adds interfere with Spectral Coils positioning

Blightscale Vipers

Blightscale Vipers are the stronger enemies created when an egg fully hatches.

They use Acidic Burst, applying heavy damage to random players. On Heroic and Mythic, they also use Petrifying Sting, which can turn players in the impact area to stone and apply a large healing absorb.

How to Handle Blightscale Vipers

  • Kill them quickly

  • Spread for Acidic Burst

  • Move away from Petrifying Sting

  • Avoid overlapping the Sting impact with other players

  • Use defensive cooldowns if multiple Vipers are active

Allowing several Vipers to remain alive can overwhelm the healers through repeated Acidic Burst effects.

Mother’s Wrath

Mother’s Wrath is the main tank mechanic.

Ula’tek knocks back her current target and repeatedly attacks them, applying Stone Venom. The tank must remain within Ula’tek’s reach because if she cannot attack a valid nearby target, the mechanic can damage the entire raid.

Tank Strategy

  • Position with enough room behind you for the knockback

  • Immediately return to melee range

  • Use active mitigation before the attack begins

  • Coordinate tank swaps around Stone Venom stacks

  • Use movement abilities carefully because the debuff can limit mobility

  • Never leave Ula’tek without a reachable tank

The second tank should be ready to taunt if the active tank is knocked too far away or becomes heavily affected by Stone Venom.

Gore Rattle

Gore Rattle introduces several connected mechanics:

  • Rattler Slam

  • Mephitic Thrash

  • Spectral Coils

Rattler Slam punishes the raid if Ula’tek is not kept in melee combat.

Mephitic Thrash damages and knocks back nearby players.

Spectral Coils creates a raid soak that deals less damage when more assigned players stand inside the impact area.

Spectral Coils Strategy

  • Move to the assigned Coil marker

  • Only the assigned group should soak

  • Use a raid defensive when required

  • Do not overlap the soak with eggs or adds

  • Alternate groups on Heroic and Mythic

Players affected by Soul Constrictor cannot help with the next Spectral Coils, making correct group rotation essential on higher difficulties.

Rage of the Shackled

Ula’tek eventually uses Rage of the Shackled, dealing repeated raid-wide damage and causing Falling Debris to strike multiple locations.

During this sequence, her Venomous Heart becomes exposed and takes substantially increased damage.

How to Handle Rage of the Shackled

  • Spread for Falling Debris

  • Use assigned healing cooldowns

  • Avoid moving through eggs

  • Switch damage to the Venomous Heart

  • Use offensive cooldowns during the increased-damage window

  • Maintain awareness of add and venom-wave positioning

This is one of the encounter’s most valuable burst windows.

Players should not waste it by continuing to attack an incorrect target.

Stage Two: Children of the Doomscale

During Stage Two, Ula’tek’s Doomscale Wardens and Doomscale Eggs become the central challenge.

The raid must interrupt the Doomscales’ development, control the Wardens and defeat weakened creatures before they can overwhelm the group.

Doomscale Wardens

Doomscale Wardens move between nearby eggs and use Writhing Gestation, transforming Devourer’s Spawn into dangerous Slithering Clutches.

They also cast Malice, which creates heavy raid-wide damage. On Heroic and Mythic, Wardens apply Grasping Fangs to players, slowing them until the fangs are broken.

How to Handle Doomscale Wardens

  • Make Wardens a high-priority target

  • Interrupt or control them where possible

  • Keep them away from unplanned eggs

  • Prepare healing for Malice

  • Break Grasping Fangs according to the raid plan

  • Avoid removing several Fangs together on Mythic

On Mythic, removing Grasping Fangs applies Blight Vein to the entire raid and can stack. The raid should coordinate removals instead of breaking every effect simultaneously.

Doomscale Eggs

Doomscale Eggs contain Ravenous Doomscales.

If allowed to hatch normally, a Ravenous Doomscale can use Dread Roar, creating a devastating raid-wide stun and damage effect.

Players can disturb the egg before full gestation, causing the Doomscale to emerge in a weakened state. A weakened Doomscale takes increased damage and cannot use Dread Roar.

Doomscale Egg Strategy

  • Follow the assigned egg order

  • Remove Warden protection

  • Trigger the egg intentionally

  • Move the egg or add to the assigned location

  • Kill the weakened Doomscale quickly

  • Avoid activating multiple eggs without enough cooldowns

The raid should control each hatch instead of allowing several full-strength Doomscales to emerge together.

Ravenous Doomscales

A weakened Doomscale is safer than a fully gestated one, but it still uses dangerous abilities including Anguished Cry and Desperate Thrash.

Tanks should point the frontal away from the raid.

DPS players should burst the add quickly while healers prepare for its raid-damage effects.

Mythic Warning

On Mythic, defeating one weakened Doomscale can cause its twin to gain Revenge, significantly increasing its haste and damage.

The raid may need to balance the Doomscales or kill them in a tightly controlled sequence.

Necrotic Vapors

Necrotic Vapors deals continuous raid-wide Nature damage while Ula’tek disturbs the venom pool.

The effect makes Stage Two increasingly difficult for healers, particularly when combined with:

  • Malice

  • Anguished Cry

  • Grasping Fangs

  • Add frontals

  • Egg activations

Healers should rotate cooldowns rather than overlapping every major ability on the first dangerous add.

Ula’tek’s Bond

Ula’tek’s different aspects share damage through Ula’tek’s Bond.

This allows the raid to continue progressing the boss encounter while damaging the correct add targets.

Players should still attack the assigned priority target rather than choosing the target that produces the highest personal numbers.

Intermission: The Shattering

The Shattering is a dangerous transition involving Spectral Coils and continuous Necrotic Vapors.

The raid must survive repeated damage while maintaining disciplined positioning.

How to Prepare for the Intermission

  • Enter with players healthy

  • Clear unnecessary adds beforehand

  • Move eggs away from soak locations

  • Assign alternating Spectral Coils groups

  • Use planned raid defensives

  • Save movement abilities

  • Avoid spreading too far from healers

The intermission becomes much harder if the raid enters with active Vipers, poorly placed eggs or unresolved Warden mechanics.

Stage Three: Ula’tek’s Ascension

The final phase returns Ula’tek to the fight with stronger add pressure and progressively shrinking safe space.

This phase combines earlier mechanics with:

  • Circling Prey

  • Serpent’s Bite

  • Moving Clutches

  • Shrieking Blightscales

  • Final platform destruction

The raid needs enough damage to finish the encounter before the remaining arena becomes unmanageable.

Circling Prey

Circling Prey destroys a portion of the platform and threatens players standing near the affected section.

Every use reduces the available space for:

  • Caustic Waves

  • Egg handling

  • Add positioning

  • Volatile Purge

  • Spectral Coils

  • Tank movement

The raid should rotate around the arena in one planned direction rather than scattering unpredictably.

How to Handle Circling Prey

  • Move away from the marked platform section

  • Keep the raid together

  • Preserve the next movement area

  • Reposition eggs before the destruction

  • Avoid trapping players behind venom waves

  • Keep the tank route clear

The raid should always know which section will be used next.

Call of the Serpent in the Final Phase

Call of the Serpent continues spawning Ula’tek’s children.

Clutches grow stronger while left alive, while fully gestated Vipers remain dangerous through Acidic Burst and Petrifying Sting.

Shrieking Blightscales use Vicious Echoes, an interruptible scream that can damage and stun the raid.

Final-Phase Add Priority

A general priority is:

  1. Shrieking Blightscale casting Vicious Echoes

  2. Fully gestated Blightscale Viper

  3. Dangerous Clutch

  4. Weaker Birthlings

  5. Ula’tek

An interrupt rotation should be assigned for Vicious Echoes.

Missing the cast during a platform-destruction mechanic can quickly cause a wipe.

Serpent’s Bite

Serpent’s Bite targets several players and applies Surging Fang.

If the venom is not removed before it expires, the affected player becomes a Calcified Corpse and is effectively killed despite immunities.

Another player must move near the affected target to leech the venom. The helper then receives Volatile Purge, which explodes after a short delay and damages nearby players.

How to Handle Serpent’s Bite

  • Mark or identify affected players

  • Assign one helper to each target

  • Leech the venom before it expires

  • The helper moves away with Volatile Purge

  • Keep Purge explosions away from eggs and soak groups

  • Avoid using several helpers on the same target

Players should not crowd around the affected target.

Only the assigned helper needs to enter the leech range.

Mythic Difference

On Mythic, Volatile Purge also creates Caustic Waves when it expires.

Helpers must position carefully so the new waves do not hatch eggs or cut through the raid’s remaining safe space.

Final Burn and Fury Unleashed

As Ula’tek destroys the prison, the raid eventually reaches the final damage race.

Fury Unleashed represents the point where the encounter becomes unsustainable.

The raid should save enough offensive and healing resources to finish the boss before the final environmental damage overwhelms the group.

Final Burn Priorities

  • Kill any immediately lethal add

  • Interrupt Vicious Echoes

  • Resolve Serpent’s Bite

  • Avoid Caustic Waves

  • Use remaining raid defensives

  • Use second potions and execute abilities

  • Maintain boss damage while moving

Do not ignore a lethal mechanic simply because Ula’tek is at low health.

A clean final mechanic is usually faster than losing several players during a reckless burn.

Heroic Ula’tek Changes

Heroic difficulty adds several important mechanics.

Soul Constrictor

Players who soak Spectral Coils receive Soul Constrictor and cannot help mitigate the next Coils.

The raid needs alternating soak groups.

Petrifying Sting

Blightscale Vipers use Petrifying Sting, turning players near the impact point to stone and applying a large healing absorb.

Targets must move away from others.

Grasping Fangs

Doomscale Wardens apply Grasping Fangs.

Breaking the effect applies additional damage through Blight Vein, so removals should be coordinated.

Mass Gestation Pressure

Doomscale Eggs and Wardens interact more aggressively, making egg control more important than on Normal difficulty.

Mythic Ula’tek Changes

Mythic adds several mechanics that greatly increase coordination requirements.

Hardened Devourer’s Spawn

Eggs begin with an absorb shield and cannot be moved until the shield is broken.

DPS players must break the assigned egg before handlers can reposition it.

Noxious Shell

Players carrying eggs receive Noxious Shell.

If two carriers move too close to one another, the eggs can immediately hatch and heavily damage the carriers.

Dedicated movement lanes are essential.

Toxic Womb

Ula’tek creates a Toxic Blightscale that awakens after a limited period.

The raid must prepare to control and kill it.

Toxic Incubation

A spectral Ula’tek sends venom toward the Toxic Blightscale.

Players need to intercept the venom to prevent the add from gaining Mother’s Boon, which increases its damage and reduces its damage taken.

Each interception increases damage from later Toxic Incubation effects, so the raid needs an assigned rotation rather than one player absorbing every hit.

Mass Gestation

Activating a Doomscale Egg can cause all remaining Devourer’s Spawn on that side of the arena to begin gestating.

The raid must prepare the entire side before disturbing the Doomscale Egg.

Revenge

Killing one weakened Doomscale can empower the other.

Groups need coordinated health balancing or an immediate burst plan for the surviving add.

Mythic Serpent’s Bite

Volatile Purge creates additional Caustic Waves on expiration.

Purge positioning therefore becomes one of the most important final-phase assignments.

Ula’tek Tank Guide

Tanks carry several critical responsibilities throughout the encounter.

Maintain Melee Contact

Ula’tek uses Unchecked Rage or Rattler Slam if no valid target remains in melee range.

After every knockback, one tank must return immediately.

Manage Mother’s Wrath

Use mitigation before the bite sequence begins.

The second tank should be ready to taunt if the active tank cannot safely return.

Control Add Frontals

Ravenous Doomscales and other serpent adds use dangerous cone attacks.

Face them away from the raid and away from egg carriers.

Plan Tank Movement

Tank movement should follow the raid’s platform rotation.

Do not move Ula’tek through eggs or block the route needed for Circling Prey.

Coordinate External Defensives

External cooldowns may be needed when:

  • Stone Venom stacks are high

  • Movement is restricted

  • Mother’s Wrath overlaps raid damage

  • Several adds are active

  • Final safe space is limited

Ula’tek Healer Guide

Ula’tek is likely to be one of the most demanding healing encounters in the raid because failed mechanics create persistent or stacking damage.

Track Putrid Membrane

Every fully hatched Blightscale Viper adds persistent raid pressure.

The more uncontrolled hatches occur, the harder the remainder of the encounter becomes.

Prepare for Spectral Coils

Top the assigned soak group before impact.

Use raid defensives according to the established rotation.

Watch Viper Targets

Acidic Burst and Petrifying Sting can create heavy single-target pressure and healing absorbs.

Coordinate Stage Two Cooldowns

Plan different cooldowns for:

  • Malice

  • Anguished Cry

  • Necrotic Vapors

  • Grasping Fangs removals

  • Add deaths

Track Serpent’s Bite

Affected players need attention until their venom is leeched.

The helper carrying Volatile Purge may also require extra healing while moving away.

Conserve Mana

Avoid wasting expensive healing on damage players could prevent through correct movement.

The final stage combines continuous damage, adds and reduced arena space.

Ula’tek DPS Guide

DPS players need to switch targets frequently and correctly.

Control Egg Timing

Break only the assigned eggs.

Randomly destroying eggs can create adds during dangerous overlaps.

Prioritize Fully Gestated Adds

Blightscale Vipers, Wardens, Toxic Blightscales and Shrieking Blightscales must die quickly.

Use the Venomous Heart Window

Save appropriate cooldowns for Rage of the Shackled when Ula’tek’s Heart takes increased damage.

Interrupt Vicious Echoes

Missing Vicious Echoes can damage and stun the raid.

Use an assigned rotation.

Maintain Damage While Moving

The final stage rewards classes and players capable of maintaining useful damage during Caustic Waves and platform destruction.

Do Not Pad Damage

Damage into weak adds is irrelevant if a dangerous priority target remains alive.

Target selection matters more than overall damage totals.

Recommended Cooldown Strategy

A basic cooldown plan can include:

Opening Phase

Use shorter offensive cooldowns while establishing egg control.

Avoid committing every major cooldown before the first Venomous Heart exposure.

Rage of the Shackled

Use major offensive cooldowns on the exposed Venomous Heart.

Assign raid healing for the repeated damage and Falling Debris.

Doomscale Phase

Use add-control cooldowns and selected healing cooldowns for each egg activation.

Do not overlap every cooldown on the first Doomscale.

The Shattering

Use raid defensives for Spectral Coils and Necrotic Vapors.

Final Phase

Use remaining offensive cooldowns, second potions and execute abilities.

Reserve at least one major raid defensive for the final platform-destruction sequence.

Common Ula’tek Mistakes

Avoid these errors:

  • Leaving eggs in the path of Caustic Waves

  • Allowing several Blightscale Vipers to hatch together

  • Moving eggs through the raid

  • Failing to return a tank to melee range

  • Using the same group for consecutive Spectral Coils

  • Ignoring the Venomous Heart damage window

  • Activating too many Doomscale Eggs together

  • Allowing Wardens to complete uncontrolled Gestation

  • Killing one Mythic Doomscale without preparing for Revenge

  • Missing Vicious Echoes interrupts

  • Failing to leech Serpent’s Bite

  • Exploding Volatile Purge near other players

  • Positioning Mythic Purge waves through eggs

  • Moving in different directions during Circling Prey

  • Using every defensive before the final phase

  • Tunneling Ula’tek while dangerous adds remain alive

Most Ula’tek wipes are likely to come from losing control of eggs and adds rather than a lack of raw boss damage.

Ula’tek Rewards

Ula’tek drops the strongest baseline loot band in Venomous Abyss alongside The Coiled Altar.

Current rewards include:

  • Venomcursed armor

  • Weapons

  • Trinkets

  • Slumbering Coil Curio

  • Very Rare daggers

  • Mistcrests

  • Housing trophies

Ula’tek currently drops item level 302 gear on Normal, 315 on Heroic and 344 on Mythic. The Slumbering Coil Curio can be exchanged for a Season 2 tier-set piece of the player’s choice.

Primeval Skyfriend

Defeating Ula’tek on Mythic difficulty can award the Primeval Skyfriend mount.

Ahead of the Curve

Defeating Ula’tek on Heroic difficulty or higher before the next raid tier awards Ahead of the Curve: Ula’tek.

No Egg Scramble

The Ula’tek encounter also has the No Egg Scramble achievement, which rewards the Ula’took companion pet when completed under its required conditions.

Ula’tek Boss Guide FAQ

Who is Ula’tek?

Ula’tek is an ancient venomous creature imprisoned beneath Atal’Utek and the final boss of the Venomous Abyss raid.

How many phases does Ula’tek have?

The encounter contains three major stages and an intermission before the final stage.

What is the most important Ula’tek mechanic?

Egg management is the central mechanic. Caustic Waves can instantly hatch eggs into dangerous Blightscale Vipers.

What happens when an egg fully hatches?

A fully gestated egg creates a Blightscale Viper and applies persistent Putrid Membrane damage to the raid.

How do you handle Spectral Coils?

Assigned players stack at the impact location to reduce the raid-wide damage.

Why are alternating soak groups needed?

On Heroic and Mythic, players who mitigate one Spectral Coils receive Soul Constrictor and cannot help with the next one.

What is the tank mechanic?

Mother’s Wrath knocks back the current tank and applies Stone Venom. A tank must remain within Ula’tek’s reach to prevent raid-wide punishment.

What is the Venomous Heart?

Rage of the Shackled exposes Ula’tek’s Heart, creating a major increased-damage window.

What happens during Stage Two?

Players fight Doomscale Wardens, manage Doomscale Eggs and intentionally weaken Ravenous Doomscales before they fully hatch.

How do you handle Serpent’s Bite?

Another player must move close enough to leech the poison before it turns the target into a Calcified Corpse. The helper then moves away before Volatile Purge expires.

What changes on Mythic?

Mythic adds Hardened eggs, dangerous egg-carrier interactions, Toxic Womb, Toxic Incubation, Mass Gestation, Doomscale Revenge and additional Caustic Waves from Volatile Purge.

What does Ula’tek drop?

Ula’tek drops high-level raid gear, Venomcursed items, weapons, trinkets, Very Rare daggers and the Slumbering Coil Curio.

Does Ula’tek drop a mount?

Yes. Primeval Skyfriend is associated with defeating Ula’tek on Mythic difficulty.

Final Thoughts

Preparing for Ula’tek requires the raid to control the encounter rather than simply react to it.

Eggs must be moved before Caustic Waves reach them.

Blightscale Vipers and Doomscale Wardens must die before their abilities overwhelm the raid.

Spectral Coils needs assigned soak groups.

Tanks must immediately recover from Mother’s Wrath.

Serpent’s Bite needs organized helpers.

The final phase requires the entire raid to move together as Ula’tek destroys the remaining platform.

The most important preparation priorities are:

  • Assign egg handlers

  • Create alternating Spectral Coils groups

  • Set an add priority

  • Plan healing cooldowns

  • Mark platform movement

  • Assign Serpent’s Bite helpers

  • Save damage for the Venomous Heart

  • Preserve cooldowns for the final phase

Ula’tek is not only a damage check.

It is a test of arena control, target priority and raid-wide coordination.

Master those three areas, and your group will be far better prepared for the final encounter of the Venomous Abyss.
