How Mobile Legends Ranked Mode Works
Ranked Mode becomes available once your account meets the current in-game unlock requirements. From there, you begin in the lower ranks and climb by winning matches, earning Stars, and completing divisions.
Below Mythic, most progression uses divisions. Fill the required Stars in your current division to move upward. At Mythic and above, progress is based on your total Stars instead of separate divisions.
Winning, Losing, and Promotion
A ranked win normally gives one Star. A loss can remove a Star, and losing while at zero Stars can result in demotion.
This makes consistency more important than one strong match. A player who avoids unnecessary deaths, helps secure objectives, and plays safely when behind will climb more reliably than a player who only focuses on kills.
Star Protection and Star-Raising Progress
MLBB includes protection mechanics that can reduce the impact of a loss when the relevant protection is available. Star-Raising progress can also reward consistent performance and help you earn extra climbing value.
These systems are useful, but they do not replace good gameplay. The most dependable way to protect Stars is still to make fewer avoidable mistakes.

Every Mobile Legends Rank in Order
The MLBB ranked ladder moves through these tiers:
Warrior
Elite
Master
Grandmaster
Epic
Legend
Mythic
Mythical Honor
Mythical Glory
Mythical Immortal
Warrior: Warrior III to Warrior I
Warrior is the lowest rank in Mobile Legends. It has three divisions:
Warrior III
Warrior II
Warrior I
Each Warrior division requires 3 Stars. This is where new ranked players should learn basic farming, turret pressure, hero abilities, and team-fight positioning.
Elite: Elite III to Elite I
Elite has three divisions:
Each Elite division requires 4 Stars. At this stage, players should begin choosing a main role and learning a small set of reliable heroes.
Master: Master IV to Master I
Master has four divisions:
Master IV
Master III
Master II
Master I
Each Master division requires 4 Stars. Map awareness, item choices, and better rotations start becoming important here.
Grandmaster: Grandmaster V to Grandmaster I
Grandmaster has five divisions:
Grandmaster V
Grandmaster IV
Grandmaster III
Grandmaster II
Grandmaster I
Grandmaster divisions require 5 Stars each. Matches become more competitive, and players who ignore objectives or overextend are punished more often.
Epic: Epic V to Epic I
Epic has five divisions:
Epic V
Epic IV
Epic III
Epic II
Epic I
Each Epic division requires 5 Stars. Epic is a major milestone because Draft Pick becomes central to ranked matches. Hero bans, counter-picks, team composition, and role flexibility become much more important.
Legend: Legend V to Legend I
Legend has five divisions:
Legend V
Legend IV
Legend III
Legend II
Legend I
Each Legend division requires 5 Stars. Players in Legend generally understand the game’s core mechanics, but many matches are decided by objective control, draft quality, and late-game positioning.
Mythic: 0 to 24 Stars
Mythic no longer uses the normal division format. You progress through total Stars:
Mythic: 0–24 Stars
Mythical Honor: 25–49 Stars
Mythical Glory: 50–99 Stars
Mythical Immortal: 100+ Stars
Mythic is where small mistakes become much more costly. Strong mechanical skill helps, but reliable decision-making, communication, hero knowledge, and objective setups matter even more.
What Makes Epic Rank Different
Epic is the first rank where players need to think seriously about the draft. You cannot rely on one hero forever because it can be banned, taken by a teammate, or countered by the enemy composition.
Build a Flexible Hero Pool
Prepare two or three heroes for your primary role and at least one dependable backup role. You do not need to master every hero in the game, but you should be ready if your preferred pick is unavailable.
For example, a Gold Lane player can learn a simple Mage for Mid Lane. An EXP Lane player can learn a durable Roamer. A Jungler can prepare a reliable Fighter or Mid Lane option.
Pick for the Team, Not Only for Yourself
Look at what your team already has before choosing a hero. If the team has plenty of damage but no frontline, a Tank, Support, or durable Fighter may be the smarter pick.
If the enemy team has strong dive heroes, protect your backline. If they rely on healing, adapt your items. If they have heavy crowd control, prioritize safer positioning and defensive choices.
How to Climb Through the MLBB Ranks
Every rank rewards a slightly different type of improvement.
Warrior to Master: Master the Basics
Focus on simple, repeatable habits:
Clear minion waves before leaving your lane.
Avoid fighting while outnumbered.
Learn one main role.
Check the minimap before pushing alone.
Take turrets after winning team fights.
Players often climb quickly through lower ranks by making fewer reckless decisions than the enemy team.
Grandmaster to Epic: Improve Map Awareness
At Grandmaster and Epic, your movement around the map matters more. Do not stare only at your lane.
Watch for missing enemies, rotate after clearing your wave, and move toward important objectives. If your team is preparing for Lord, do not remain far away farming unless there is a clear reason.
Legend to Mythic: Play for the Win Condition
Legend matches are often lost because teams fight without a plan. Identify how your composition wins.
A team with a strong late-game Marksman may need time and protection. A team with powerful early-game heroes may need to take turrets and objectives before the enemy can scale. Play around what your team does best.
Mythic and Above: Reduce Major Mistakes
At higher ranks, players punish poor positioning, greedy farming, missed Battle Spells, and bad engages very quickly.
You do not need to make a perfect play every match. You need to avoid the one mistake that gives the enemy Lord, breaks your base, or removes your main damage dealer before a decisive fight.
Faster Climbing Tips That Matter
There is no guaranteed shortcut to a higher rank, but these habits help you improve your chances of winning consistently.
Use Comfort Picks in Ranked
A small hero pool is better than constantly switching to unfamiliar heroes. Learn your strongest heroes well enough to understand their combinations, matchups, builds, and role in team fights.
Comfort picks let you focus more attention on the minimap and your team’s decisions.
Clear Waves Before Rotating
Minion waves provide gold, experience, and map pressure. Clear your lane before rotating whenever possible.
A good rotation should have a purpose: help an ally, secure an objective, protect a lane, or take a turret. Random movement across the map often leaves you behind without creating an advantage.
Turn Kills Into Objectives
A kill gives your team a temporary advantage. A turret, Lord, Turtle, or safely secured jungle area creates lasting progress.
After winning a fight, check what is available instead of immediately chasing another enemy. This one habit can change how often your team converts leads into wins.
Know When to Leave a Fight
Not every objective can be contested safely. If your team is split, several enemies are missing, or important abilities are unavailable, retreating may be the correct decision.
A safe defense and a cleared minion wave are often better than losing several teammates in a fight that was already lost.
Common Reasons Players Get Stuck
Rank plateaus are usually caused by repeated habits, not bad luck in one match.
Playing While Frustrated
Frustration leads to poor decisions: chasing kills, ignoring teammates, forcing fights, and blaming others instead of reading the map.
If you notice you are playing emotionally, step away before queuing again. Calm decisions are usually better decisions.
Ignoring Team Composition
A team with no frontline, too little crowd control, or too many heroes competing for the same resources can struggle from the start.
Adapt during draft when possible. A balanced team is usually easier to play than five independent damage picks.
Treating Ranked Mode Like a Deathmatch
Kills look impressive, but objectives win games. A player with fewer eliminations who protects allies, pushes structures, and secures objectives can have far more impact than someone only chasing damage.
Using the Same Build Every Match
Item builds should respond to the enemy team. Learn whether the enemy deals mainly physical or magic damage, relies on healing, has dangerous burst damage, or can quickly reach your backline.
Adaptation is one of the clearest differences between average and consistent ranked players.
